my wife and I used a recipe I found on Storm the Castle dot com (they are a great resource please check them out) we started our first batch of mead...
the recipe we used was
1 Gallon of Spring Water (room temperature, do not get refrigerated)
4 pounds of honey – pure unprocessed (we used 4 instead of 3 cause my wife likes sweeter drinks)
1 bag of balloons big enough to stretch over the mouth of the spring water jug
1 package of Fleishmann’s Yeast
1 box of raisins
1 Orange
we followed the directions on the link above to the letter with the exception of the honey amount... I will update blogs as we progress and add new blogs as I make new batches and I buy new equipment...
and now we wait...

Introduction
First off, Welcome to my blog... a little about me... I got started with my grandfather making homemade wine, in bottles, in the basement. I was always fascinated with making the wine and how it worked... so recently I have decided to take my shot at an old family tradition only my focus would be more on mead (honey wine) and then later traditional wine... so without further adieu you will find my next post is about my first batch of mead...
